I started photography at the age of 16 during my time at King Edward VII High School in King's Lynn, while taking my A-levels. After this time I moved onto the College of West Anglia to take a National Diploma in Photography, under the tuition of John Hansell. After leaving college, I was able to get a job at the local bi-weekly newspaper the Lynn News as a photographic assistant. Over a 7 year period (some of this time was also during my college years), I moved up to a full time senior photographer. This gave me the chance to work with Local Press Photographers Alan Miller, Roy Williamson and Paul Marsh.
My next opportunity came at the Eastern Daily Press in 2002, working as a senior press photographer with photographer John Hocknell in the King's Lynn office. I am still working for Archant and the EDP at the moment. In 2005, I had my first Landscape Exhibition at the Arts Centre in King's Lynn, achieving one of my ambitions in life.
Currently I'm trying to move my work forward, exploring new techniques and processes - which can aid me in both my press photography and my personal landscape work. One day I hope to hold another landscape exhibition, and continue to build and improve my work, putting it on display for others to see.
